Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on the sidelines of the 8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union in Egypt's New Alamein, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement.
During the meeting, Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast support for the Sudanese people and preserving Sudan's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the cohesion of its national institutions.
He also emphasized Egypt's continued efforts to advance a political solution to the crisis and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Sudanese people, thereby enabling Sudan to restore its security and stability and embark on the path of reconstruction and development.
For his part, Al-Burhan expressed appreciation for the political and humanitarian support Egypt provides to Sudan, as well as its hosting of large numbers of Sudanese citizens forced to leave their country due to the war.
Sudan has been witnessing a deadly war between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces since April 2023.
The conflict has killed thousands and displaced millions of people inside and outside Sudan, while exacerbating the country's humanitarian and food crises.
