Afghan plant exports locally made batteries to Arab markets

KABUL, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's western Herat province has exported its domestically produced batteries to Arab countries, the provincial government office announced in a statement on Monday.

The Green Energy Plus plant has dispatched its fourth consignment of locally manufactured batteries, valued at 2 million U.S. dollars, to Arab states, according to the statement on Monday.

The facility directly employs about 550 people and operates with a daily production capacity of up to 4,000 batteries, it added.
