2 airports attacked in southern Saudi Arabia, 3 injured

RIYADH, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Three people sustained minor injuries in attacks targeting two airports in southern Saudi Arabia, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said on Tuesday.

The attacks on Monday evening targeted King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport, GACA said in a statement posted on social media platform X.

Emergency response teams and relevant authorities responded immediately, and the three injured were transported to hospital for medical care, according to the statement.

GACA said it was coordinating efforts to assess the damage and ensure passenger safety.
