Cambodia, Vietnam sign pacts to boost bilateral cooperation

PHNOM PENH, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia and Vietnam signed a series of bilateral cooperation pacts on Friday to expand ties in trade, public security, drug enforcement, and education, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said.
The signing ceremony took place at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh following official talks between Hun Manet and visiting Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
According to updates shared on his official social media platforms, Hun Manet outlined the scope of the newly signed instruments, which include four Memorandums of Understanding, an agreement, and a trade enhancement framework.
During their bilateral meeting, the two leaders discussed strategies to deepen traditional friendship, improve economic and transport connectivity, and exchange perspectives on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Hung arrived in the Cambodian capital at noon on Friday for a two-day official visit, marking his first official trip to Cambodia since taking office in April.
