China sentences 3 from Myanmar telecom fraud ring to death

China on Tuesday sentenced three leading members of a criminal gang led by the Wei family to death. The gang carried out criminal activities, including telecom fraud and gambling, in Myanmar.

Three others were sentenced to life imprisonment, while another 55 received prison terms ranging from three years and three months to 24 years, according to rulings issued by the Intermediate People's Court of Quanzhou and the People's Court of Nan'an, both in east China's Fujian Province.
