India's industrial production grows 6.7 pct in September

NEW DELHI, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- India's industrial production grew 6.7 percent in September, government data showed Wednesday.

The growth was supported by 7.6 percent growth in the manufacturing sector and strong growth of 11.2 percent in the electricity and gas supply sector, according to the federal Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

Within the manufacturing sector, the top three positive contributors for September are manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, manufacture of electrical equipment, and manufacture of rubber and plastics products, the data revealed.
