Mayon Volcano in northern Philippines erupts

The Philippines' Mayon Volcano erupted on Friday in Albay province in the northern Philippines, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
The institute raised the alert level from 2 to Level 3, with Level 5 the highest on the scale. The volcano is located approximately 500 km southeast of Manila.
