Serbia marks second anniversary of deadly railway station canopy collapse

Participants in the commemoration walked toward the railway station and laid flowers and wreaths in memory of the victims.
At 11:52 a.m. (1052 GMT), the moment the canopy collapsed on Nov. 1, 2024, participants observed 16 minutes of silence, one minute for each victim. A choir performance and speeches followed.
A speaker called for accountability for the deaths, saying those responsible must be brought to justice.
The collapse sparked protests and demonstrations across Serbia, with demands for accountability and action against corruption becoming central to the anti-government movement.
