Russia hits Ukrainian military-linked energy facilities
MOSCOW, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that its forces launched an overnight strike on Ukrainian energy facilities.
The strike involved precision-guided weapons and attack drones and targeted energy installations supplying electricity to military-industrial enterprises, the ministry said.
The targets included four thermal power plants and several power substations across the Vinnytsia, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov regions. Port infrastructure in the Odessa region and two bulk carriers transporting military and dual-use cargo in the Black Sea were also hit.
The strikes disrupted power supplies in several Ukrainian regions. About 130 settlements in the Zhytomyr region lost power. Heating and public electronic transport were suspended in Kharkov, with outages also reported in Kiev and Dnepropetrovsk, according to Ukrainian local authorities.
