Ousted Paraguayan President Santiago Pena put under house arrest

ASUNCION, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Paraguay's ousted President Santiago Pena was detained and put under house arrest Friday, shortly after he was removed from office by the Senate over his alleged involvement in a banking scandal.

Prosecutor Cristian Benitez said Pena is currently being held at his residence, while the public prosecutor's office determines the final charges against him.
