Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, delivered a video address, highlighting the outcome of the fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). According to the meeting, the Party identified self-reform and people's oversight of the government as two answers to the question of how to escape the historical cycle of rise and fall.

Shen noted that these answers are distinctive CPC contributions that would go down in the history of Marxist party-building.

He said that as the world undergoes changes unseen in a century at an accelerating pace, humanity once again stands at a crossroads over its future direction. The fifth plenum would offer insights into political party development, national governance, and improving global governance, while contributing greater public value to a world marked by turbulence and uncertainty, he added.
