Bangkok-A huge fire broke out early Tuesday at the famous teak wood Palace Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar's largest city.

Reports said the fire has razed the entire hotel, and the number of casualties remains unknown.

China's embassy in Yangon immediately activated its emergency services, and has been in close contact with relevant Myanmar authorities on the status of Chinese citizens in that country.

One citizen from the Macau Special Autonomous Region was reportedly injured after falling from the hotel.  The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Chinese consular officials have gone to the hospital to provide assistance.  They have also requested hotel management to offer better assistance.

The hotel is located on the Kandawgyi lakeside in Yangon.

Hotel guests have been evacuated to a safe location, local media quoted firemen as saying.
