KIEV, April 8 (Xinhua) -- The number of people in the Ukrainian armed forces to have tested positive for COVID-19 has reached five, including one death, the press service of Ukraine's Medical Forces Command reported on Wednesday.

At present, 118 troops are under isolation, including self-quarantine, the press service added.

The death toll from COVID-19 in Ukraine rose to 52 on Wednesday, as the total cases reached 1,668, the country's health ministry said.

Deputy Health Minister Viktor Liashko said COVID-19 infections in the country may peak on April 14.

Meanwhile, a group of experts under the Ministry of Health is studying the findings of China, Italy and France and will offer Ukrainian doctors new COVID-19 protocols in the coming days.

On March 25, Ukraine introduced emergency measures across the country through April 24 to contain the spread of the disease.
