TUNIS, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) - Chadlia Farhat Essebsi, widow of former Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, died on Sunday morning after suffering a severe health crisis, her son Hafedh Caid Essebsi announced on his official Facebook page.

"May God grant her mercy and bless her and make her rest in paradise," Hafedh Caid Essebsi noted.
The death of Essebsi's widow coincided with the election day when more than 7 million registered voters in Tunisia are expected to go to the polls for the presidential election.
Essebsi passed away on July 25 at the age of 92 following a serious health crisis.
