France reports 28,940 COVID-19 deaths as hospitalizations continue to fall

Paris (People's Daily) -- COVID-19 has caused 107 new deaths in last 24 hours in France, where the number of resuscitation patients continues to drop, according to the latest assessment reported Tuesday evening by the French Health Agency.

This brings the total death toll to 28,940 victims since March 1, including 18,590 in hospital, and 10,350 in social and medico-social establishments.

14,028 patients are now hospitalized due to COVID-19 in France, which represents a drop of 260 beds compared with the previous day.

And 1,253 people are now hospitalized in intensive care. Like that of hospitalized patients, the number of people in intensive care continues to drop, with a decrease of 49 beds compared to the previous day.

151,325 people have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the epidemic in France.

According to the French Health Agency, the number of positive cases is lower than the assessment of the previous three days due to a readjustment of the data.

A total of 68,812 people considered to have been cured were able to leave the hospital.
