France surpasses 70K COVID-19 infections

Paris (People's Daily) -- Official data from France's public health agency on Sunday revealed 8,078 COVID-19 fatalities nationwide, up by 518 from the previous day.

Hospital deaths reached 5,889 and with elderly care facilities reporting 2,189.

Nationwide, the number of infections hit 70,478, an increase of 1,873 in 24 hours.

Hospitals are treating 28,891 infected patients, with 6,978 in intensive care.

French health officials also confirmed 16,183 full recoveries.
