Paris (People’s Daily) -- The French Ministry of Health and Solidarity announced Tuesday that cases of COVID-19 had increased by 1,520 a day earlier, with a total of 129,859 cases diagnosed.

There are currently 4,387 severe cases, 367 new fatalities and 23,660 deaths in total.

The French National Assembly adopted the government's plan to start to ease restrictions in the country from May 11.

French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said that if the restrictions are not lifted, the country will be at risk of collapse and we must learn to live with COVID-19 and to protect ourselves from it.
