BERLIN, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- German government decides to supply its Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine on Wednesday and green-lighted requests by other countries to do so.

According to the local authorities, Germany would send an initial company of 14 of its Leopard 2 tanks from its own stocks.

Germany's decision to provide Kiev with its Leopard 2 tanks will escalate the Ukrainian conflict, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev said Wednesday.
