Islamabad (People’s Daily) – Hong Kong affairs are China’s internal affairs, which other countries shall not interfere in, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal said on Thursday during a regular press conference in Islamabad.

Pakistan understands the measures taken by the Central government of China and Hong Kong SAR government to safeguard national sovereignty and Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability, Faisal said.

“All countries should uphold international law and the basic norm of non-interference in internal affairs of other countries,” the spokesperson noted.

“We also believe the stability and prosperity in Hong Kong will soon resume,” he added.
