MADRID, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Around 300 people were injured after a wooden platform collapsed during a music festival in Spain, local officials said Monday.
People were watching a rap artist in Vigo, a town in northwestern Spain, on Sunday night when the platform, 30 meters long and 10 meters wide, collapsed, Vigo Mayor Abel Caballero said at the scene.
"The causes have yet to be determined. Everything indicates that no one is trapped underneath," he said.
Videos of the accident shot by bystanders on their phones showed scenes of panic as people tried to get to safety. Some were reported to have fallen into the sea and teams of divers were sent for their rescue.
The mayor said a full investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the accident.
