The 62nd General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted a resolution on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK's) nuclear issue in Vienna on Friday.

The resolution urges all parties concerned to fully implement the joint statement reached during the six-party talks in 2005.

Wang Qun, the Chinese representative to the UN Office, said the resolution injects positive energy into the process of political settlement to the issue.

The resolution welcomes the positive progress made on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue and clearly signals the support for relevant political and diplomatic efforts, he said.

He added that the resolution also urges all parties concerned to fully implement relevant commitments, including the Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK-US Joint Statement and the Pyongyang Joint Declaration signed this year.

The IAEA said the DPRK's statement on the suspension of nuclear tests and its efforts to dismantle its test site are inspiring.
