BANGKOK, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Police on Friday evening recovered an improvised explosive device in a Bangkok cloth market.

Police said the improvised explosive device was attached to a power strip and had been placed inside a shop in the market.

"The bomb found today (Friday) was of the same design as seven others believed to be placed in the Pratunam and Siam Square shopping areas and linked to Bangkok bombings on August 2," Police said on TV.

The source said that the shop owner only decided to inform police of the incident on Friday, and officers went there to collect the object.

Authorities are still on the hunt for more than a dozen suspects in connection with the August 2 attacks.

Several bombs exploded in Bangkok on August 2, injuring three people.
