Indonesia, holder of the G20 Presidency in 2022, will work closely with China in three priorities: global health architecture, new energies, green economy and digital transformation, Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, told the Global Times on Wednesday.
For the last few years, both countries have enjoyed very good ties and have a particularly good relationship between the two leaders, said Oratmangun.
The ambassador pointed out that the two countries can continue to work on areas of common interest. "Through cooperation with China, Indonesia can become the manufacture hub of vaccines and medical devices in Southeast Asia. This reflects the close cooperation between both countries," he added.
Oratmangun also confirmed that the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway "hopefully will be concluded as already planned." The 140km-long railway is not only the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, but also one of the world's most advanced.
The ambassador visited Fuzhou, East China's Fujian Province for the three-day ASEAN-China Online Influencers Conference & Fujian Brands Promotion Tour along the Maritime Silk Road. In the tour he witnessed the booming livestreaming business in the province and saw how foreign students in China boost the sales of products of ASEAN countries through livestreaming.
Internet celebrities and influencers promote trade and also send a positive perspective to the audience which can "strengthen people-to-people exchanges and cooperation," said the ambassador.
Since moving to Beijing in 2018, the ambassador and his wife have been enjoying a good life. Fans of singer Teresa Teng, the couple are fond of singing Chinese songs, like Jasmine and Moon Represents My Heart, in their Beijing residence.
Oratmangun told the Global Times that they almost sing every day to release stress. "Singing songs can make you happy. Once you are happy you will feel energized again to do something else," he added.
At an event of the ASEAN-China Influencers Conference, they showcased their singing talent with Chinese songs, impressing the audiences at the event.
Life in China can be colorful. The ambassador not only loves singing, but also traveling and food. He proudly said that he had visited over 45 Chinese cities during the past three years.
"China is beautiful. I love to see the historical sites, the scenery and the food," said Oratmangun, who is passionate to experience the richness of the country's culinary culture, "from Sichuan's hot and spicy to Shanghai's delicacy."
Oratmangun practiced skiing when working in Europe for 12 years. However, after a knee injury, he had to stay away from the sport. His moments skiing were captured by his wife, also a painter, in a series of works now exhibited in Beijing to warm up the upcoming 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games.
"I am glad to be invited to attend the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games, witnessing the historical moment and seeing these athletes competing," he added, wishing China's success in hosting the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
