The fourth international  seminar of the study on China in Latin America wrapped up on Wednesday.

About 500 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from more than 20 countries attended the three-day seminar.

The seminar was held by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with the theme of “opportunities and challenges of the China-Latin America relationship in the 21st century.“

Enrique Dussel, the head of the Center of the Studies on China-Mexico, spoke highly of the success that China achieved in infrastructure construction in Latin America and the Caribbean, especially the Coca Codo Sinclair Hydroelectric Power Project in Ecuador.

Dussel also pointed out the problem that some Chinese companies cannot get accustomed to the local culture.

Manuel Ando from the Minth company suggested that Latin American countries should adopt more incentive policies to attract investment, simplify immigration procedures, and increase shipping capacity to Asia, among others.

Quelen Cassini Guedes, a Brazilian student who studies at the China University of Political Science and Law, spoke about the impact on global trade of the environmentally conscious construction methods promoted by China.
