TEHRAN, April 12 (Xinhua) -- All the international and national exhibitions in Iran will remain cancelled until June 9 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the CEO of Iran International Exhibitions Company Bahman Hosseinzadeh said on Sunday.

"This does not mean the cancelled exhibitions will not be held. We have rescheduled all of these fairs to be held later in the year," Hosseinzadeh was quoted as saying by Eghtesadonline news website on Sunday.

He said that the officials in Iran International Exhibitions Company have set up a recovery center for the patients infected by the novel coronavirus in the buildings for the events.

These centers will again be used for holding exhibitions once the situation returns to normal, he added.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 in Iran on Feb. 19, a total of 71,686 cases have been reported, of whom 4,474 have died.
