Cairo (People’s Daily) - An Iranian health official says the raw materials of a new anti-viral drug used in China will be imported in the coming days to be manufactured domestically.

Ali Razazan, in charge of the distribution of coronavirus drugs at Iran’s Food and Drug Administration, said an antiviral drug, manufactured and used in China, has been successful in treating COVID-19 patients. The official didn’t disclose the drug’s name.

He told IRNA the raw materials have arrived in the country and are currently being cleared by Customs. He added that the medicine can be mass-produced in the country within two days.
