The Islamic State jihadist group has finished evacuating fighters and civilians from Yarmuk, its last stronghold in the Syrian capital, a monitor said Monday.

"The evacuations are over, after 32 buses took 1,600 people including IS fighters and their relatives out of southern Damascus on Sunday and Monday," the Syria Observatory for Human Rights said.
