Cairo (People’s Daily) -- 1930 new cases of COVID-19 and 3 fatalities were confirmed in Israel as of Tuesday evening, said a statement from the country’s health ministry.

Over the past 24 hours, there have been 488 new cases, and 2 fatalities, both of which are the biggest one-day jump yet in the country.

According to the ministry, 34 people with COVID-19 are in serious condition, while 45 are in moderate condition.

There have now been 51 Israelis who have recovered from the virus.

With the numbers growing, the Israeli Health Ministry has been pushing for a complete lockdown throughout Israel while the Finance Ministry is insisting that if a full state of emergency closure is implemented, the economy could not be restored.
