JERUSALEM, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Israel reported a new death case from the novel coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 21, the state's Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.

The ministry added that the number of novel coronavirus cases in Israel has risen to 5,591.

Of the 637 patients being treated in hospitals across Israel, 97 are in serious condition, it said.

Among the remaining 4,933 cases, 3,062 are treated in home quarantine, 689 are treated in hotels converted into treatment facilities, 226 have recovered, and the remaining 956 will be treated at home, hotel or hospital in accordance with decisions to be made soon.
