The Israeli attack came after dozens of rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel on Friday night. One of the rockets hit a house in the city of Sderot, with no casualties recorded.

According to the IDF, among the sites targeted by the Israeli air force were a Hamas naval force military compound, a compound serving the organization's aerial defense array, an anti-missile simulator, training compounds, weapons manufacturing and storage sites, and underground infrastructure.

The Palestinians reported that one man was killed in the Israeli attack and two others were injured.

"The IDF views the rocket attack with great severity and is prepared to continue operating as necessary against attempts to harm Israeli civilians. The IDF holds Hamas responsible for all events transpiring in the Gaza Strip and emanating from it", an Israeli statement said.
