Israeli strikes on Gaza 'may be war crimes': UN rights chief

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said on Thursday that Israel's deadly strikes on Gaza earlier this month may constitute war crimes if they are shown to be disproportionate.

"If found to be indiscriminate and disproportionate impacting on civilians and civilians' objects, such attacks may constitute war crimes," Bachelet told a special session of the UN Human Rights Council.
