The two Koreas agreed on Monday to form unified teams for some events at the upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia in August, according to Yonhap News Agency.

The agreement came after sports officials from the two sides met at the truce village Panmunjom to expand their sport collaborations.

On the agenda for the meeting was a set of joint sports events including an inter-Korean basketball match, which was proposed by North Korea's top leader Kim Jong-un at his summit with the South's President Moon Jae-in in April.

Two sides agreed to hold the basketball match in Pyongyang on July 4 and a separate basketball match this fall in Seoul.

South Korea would dispatch its male and female basketball teams to Pyongyang next month for the joint match.

Officials also agreed to form a unified delegation to parade together at the opening and closing ceremonies of the games, which will be held in Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 to September 2.
