Harvey Weinstein

An Italian actress met with Los Angeles police detectives Thursday morning, providing a detailed account of new allegations that Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted her at a hotel in 2013, who is the sixth woman to accuse Weinstein of rape or forcible sex acts, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Los Angeles police Capt. Billy Hayes confirmed that the department has launched an investigation into the matter. New York police and London's Metropolitan Police have already started investigation into cases related to Harvey Weinstein.

So far Weinstein has denied the allegations. On the latest allegation, his representative, Sallie Hofmeister, has reportedly said, "I can't respond to some anonymous complaint." However, legal experts say this new investigation could "open the door to a prosecution if the evidence exists."
