Landslide kills 4, injures 1 in northern Vietnam

HANOI, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- A landslide occurred at a construction site in Vietnam's northern Quang Ninh province have left four workers dead and another injured, Vietnam News Agency reported on Saturday.

The five male victims, aged 25-34, were scooping soil and rock for the construction of a drainage ditch when the accident happened on Friday night. Local authorities are further investigating the case.

In 2018, nearly 8,000 work-related accidents occurred in Vietnam, killing 1,039 people and severely injuring 1,939 others, according to the country's Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
