Johannesburg (People’s Daily) – The official newspaper of Zimbabwe featured a photo essay on meetings between President Mugabe and General Constantino Chiwenga, Zimbabwe Defense Force (ZDF) commander, and special envoys from South Africa at the nation’s State House in Harare, on November 16, 2017.

The Herald did not publish the outcomes of the meetings or quotes from those in attendance, but photos reveal a subdued and diplomatic atmosphere. 

Reuters news service reported earlier that Mugabe insists he is Zimbabwe’s sole legitimate leader, had has refused to step down.
