BEIRUT, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon received on Monday donations from several countries following the explosions that hit Beirut's port on Aug. 4, LBCI local TV channel reported.

Iraq sent an aircraft with food donations while Egypt sent two aircraft carrying food supplies for the Lebanese.

Greece sent medical equipment and France sent a vessel to Beirut's port with medical and food supplies in addition to construction material.

Meanwhile Ireland sent medical supplies to Lebanese hospitals.

Two huge explosions rocked Port of Beirut on Aug. 4, shaking buildings all over Lebanon's capital, while killing at least 177 people and wounding 6,000.

The explosions pose a great challenge to Lebanon especially that the country is already facing its worst economic crisis in its history.

Lebanon has received donations in the past few days from different countries including Qatar, China, Kuwait, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Germany and others.
