BEIJING, June 25 (Xinhua) -- A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Russia's Far East Kamchatsk Peninsula on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 33 km, was initially determined to be at 56.2 degrees north latitude and 164.3 degrees east longitude, some 113km east of Ust-Kamchatsk Staryy, it said.
