In the United States

The S&P 500 Index opened at 2,775.66 points, up 6.88 points, or 0.25 percent.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened at 25,421.09 points, up 41.64 points, or 0.16 percent.

The Nasdaq Composite Index opened at 7,530.15 points, up 45.02 points, or 0.60 percent.

In Europe

The DAX Index opened at 11,578.85 points, down 10.36 points, or 0.09 percent.

The FTSE 100 Index opened at 7,044.36 points, up 17.37 points, or 0.25 percent.

The Paris CAC 40 opened at 5,119.64 points, up 2.85 points, or 0.06 percent.

In Asia

The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,550.47 points, up 64.05 points, or 2.58 percent.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 7,387.74 points, up 200.25 points, or 2.79 percent.

The Hang Seng Index closed at 25,561.40 points, up 106.85 points, or 0.42 percent. 

The S&P/ASX 200 index closed at 5,939.50 points, down 2.90 points, or 0.05 percent.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average closed at 22,532.08 points, down 126.08 points, or 0.56 percent.

The Straits Times Index closed at 3,062.51 points, down 7.16 points, or 0.23 percent.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index closed at 2,156.26 points, up 7.95 points, or 0.37 percent.
