People’s Daily (Bangkok) - Malaysia reported 153 new cases and one death related to COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections to 1,183, and deaths to four, according to the country’s health ministry.

The new death and the 90 new cases are linked to a mosque gathering in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur during a religious event from February 27 to March 1 that involved about 16,000 people and led to comfirmed infections outside Malaysia in Cambodia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The disease has caused four deaths in Malaysia with 37 people in the intensive care unit. 114 patients have recovered from novel coronavirus infections.
