NEW YORK, March 22 (Xinhua) - Acts of mass violence have shaken the foundations of the U.S. society, the New York Daily News reported on Monday.

Such violence has instilled fear in people when they shop for groceries, attend church, or go to school, it reported.

Last spring, 10 people were killed in a racially motivated mass killing at a grocery store in a Black-predominated community in Buffalo.

It was the 198th mass shooting of the year, with 450 to follow before the year was out, according to the daily.
