German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday condemned the shootings that left three people died in Vienna, saying "Islamist terror is our common enemy".

"The fight against these assassins and those who instigate them is our common struggle," Merkel's spokesperson tweeted, adding: "solidarity" with Austria.
