North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed an agreement at the end of their summit talks in Pyongyang on Wednesday, according to Yonhap.

The agreement was signed in a ceremony held at the North's state guesthouse Paekhwawon and broadcast live in Seoul.

Details of the agreement signed by the leaders were not immediately available.

In the ceremony, the countries also signed a fresh military agreement that is widely believed to be aimed at further reducing tension between the divided Koreas.

South Korea's Defense Minister Song Young-moo and his North Korean counterpart No Kwang-chol inked the agreement, which is part of efforts to enforce the two Koreas' April summit agreement to halt "all hostile acts" against each other and eliminate the "danger of war."

Before the summmit, the two sides had a series of talks over a range of proposals, such as withdrawing border guard posts on a trial basis, carrying out a joint project to excavate Korean War remains in the Demilitarized Zone and disarming the Joint Security Area in Panmunjom.

Some have anticipated that the two sides could include an agreement on ways to prevent clashes in West Sea near the Northern Limit Line (NLL), a de facto sea border.
