Bangkok (People's Daily) - Nepal on Tuesday confirmed 538 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, bringing the total to 10,099 since the virus first arrived in the country in January.

A total of 7,851 patients remain hospitalized, 2,224 have recovered and returned home, and 24 have died from complications related to the disease, according to Nepal's Ministry of Public Health.

There are still 85,813 people in Nepal in quarantine.

In order to prevent and control the epidemic of new coronavirus cases, the Nepalese government announced the implementation of a curfew on June 19.

Nepal has implemented a national blockade policy since March 24 to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
