Nepal's COVID-19 cases rise to 7,177, with 586 new infections

Bangkok (People's Daily) - Nepal on Wednesday confirmed 586 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, bringing the total to 7,177 since the virus first arrived in the country in January.

A total of 5,990 patients remain hospitalized, 1,167 have recovered and returned home, and 20 have died from complications related to the disease, according to Nepal's Ministry of Public Health.

There are still 125,798 people in Nepal in quarantine. Nepal has implemented a national blockade policy since March 24 to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
