Number of confirmed coronavirus cases reaches 214 in Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday confirmed five new COVID-19 cases in the country. The number of confirmed cases in Nigeria has risen to 214, with 25 patients discharged from hospital and four dead.

The NCDC is tracking the 6,700 close contacts of the confirmed cases, and 71 percent were located and monitored as of Thursday. Four thousand tests have been conducted in eight laboratories across the country. New laboratories will be opened in the Federal Capital Territory and Kano state next week.
