Madrid (People's Daily) - The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Spain has risen to approximately 150 and is “changing by the minute,” according to the Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare.

Fernando Simon, the director of the Center for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies at the ministry said that increasing the level of alert over the virus from “containment” to “mitigation” was “on the table” for certain areas of the country.

The government has pledged to act with “measure, transparency and proportionality” in the face of COVID-19.
