City councilors and residents in Brooklyn denounced anti-Chinese graffiti found on storefronts in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.

The graffiti reads, “Chinese stink like fish”.

"Anybody sees that will feel uncomfortable and angry”, Chinese residents said. “We feel so sad, and it is not good at all.”

Lawmakers and residents chanted “Stop the hate”.

New York City councilor member Mark Treyger said, “Let’s make it very clear: we will always stand up against hate here in Bensonhurst.”

"This nation was built by immigrants. We should treat  (them) equally,” one resident said. “We want to protect our Chinese community, and we want to protect our people.”
