OTTAWA, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- A shooting incident left one dead and several others wounded in the Canadian capital here Wednesday morning, the police said.

The shooting happened about a kilometer away from the Canadian Parliament Hill, said the police, adding that the incident was "not considered an active shooter situation."
