Around 250,000 people participated in the 40th Mexico City Gay Pride Parade held on Saturday to celebrate the achievements the country has made in the fight for equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
José Ramón Amieva, Mayor of Mexico City, said that the city has always and will continue to safeguard the free rights of all people and make sure the institutions concerned protect them.
Every June, LGBT activists around the world hold “gay pride parade”.
