U.S. Department of Defense announced on Thursday night that the U.S. forces had taken a strike that killed Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps.  

The death of Qasem Soleimani was also confirmed by Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Friday.
